Skip Hop was founded in 2003 by Ellen and Michael Diamant, two new parents residing in New York City. Ellen, a former design executive in the fashion and publishing industries, and Michael, an internet entrepreneur, sought to create a line of products suitable for urban parents. In the same year, they created the world's first diaper bag that converted into a stroller bag. The Diamants continued to expand their collection to include a wide range of diaper bags and baby accessories.
Since its birth, Skip Hop has continued to create diaper bags and accessories that accommodate an urban lifestyle and mindset. The socially conscious company also donates a portion of its profits to the Pediatric AIDS Foundation and the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund

Comments about Skip Hop Mod Dot Nursery Lamp:
i loved this lamp until we had to replace the bulb and now the touch feature doesn't work. so disappointing, as we have the entire bedroom set and it really made the room! we ordered it a year ago and didn't have to replace the bulb until now, which is now too late to exchange. if the "touch" feature doesn't work it's pretty useless, as i can't plug and unplug from the wall while trying to get a baby to bed. :(

The lamp is small but puts out enough dim light to nicely light the nursery. It has three settings and the dimmest setting is works well for middle of the night feeding/diaper changes or for a night light. The touch activated power switch is a plus.

... because DestructoToddler broke the first one. It's not quite a sturdy as I'd prefer, but with _normal_ use it seems to work great.
The nicest thing is that she can turn the light on and off for herself.
The only real gotcha is that this is a non-standard bulb, and when it burns out I haven't found any way to replace it.

the recipient of the lamp is too young to respond but her mother replied that it is "awesome."

Service and delivery comments:
The first lamp that I received didn't work properly, but I contacted customer service and they quickly replaced it. This is the fastest response I've ever gotten from an online store. The lamp is adorable, and based on their amazing customer service, I'll definitely be purchasing more from this store in the future!

Comments about Skip Hop Mod Dot Nursery Lamp:
I like the style, size, and the 3-touch base. It was great as a reading lamp and then a nightlight, and the touch base meant my little boy could control it himself.
But after a month, the light burned out. Every replacement lamp I tried would not respond to the touch base. After contacting the manufacturer and finding that it didn't take a special bulb, I concluded that the lamp itself must have broken. The only way to control it now is by plugging or unplugging it.

I bought this for my father who is in a nursing home and he loves it. It is lightweight so if it gets knocked over it won't hurt anything and the light is soft and soothing.

My husband and I were just talking about how this is the best lamp we own. The three light settings, and tap on/off, make it perfect for not just the baby room (yay for ease of managing it while carrying squirming and screaming infant), but also by our own bedside since it turns on and off so easily when we're falling asleep. Plus, it looks great.

We love this lamp, and it's great for my toddler son. He doesn't need to be able to reach a light switch or turn a tiny knob. He knows to just touch the base to turn it on and off. The lowest level is also great as a night light!
